The Cure – Songs of a Lost World  

Songs of a Lost World is the fourteenth studio album by English rock band The Cure, released on 1 November 2024. It marked the band’s return with all-new material after a 16-year hiatus since 4:13 Dream. Recorded between 2019 and 2022 at Rockfield Studios in Wales under the guidance of Robert Smith and Paul Corkett, the album explores themes of loss, mortality, and the inexorable passage of time—imbued with a haunting, elegiac atmosphere that bridges gothic and space rock textures.

Critics praised its immersive mood and emotional weight, calling it a masterful, slow-burning work that harks back to the band’s classic era and may stand as one of their finest albums in decades. Upon release, it soared to number one in the UK and multiple European countries, becoming their highest-charting studio release since the 1990s.
