Trivium – Silence In The Snow
“Silence in the Snow” is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Trivium, released on October 2, 2015, through Roadrunner Records. This album marks a stylistic shift for the band, featuring exclusively clean vocals from lead singer Matt Heafy, a departure from their earlier work. The decision to focus on melodic singing was influenced by Heafy’s vocal training with coach Ron Anderson after experiencing vocal cord issues in 2014. The album draws inspiration from classic metal acts such as Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and Dio, reflecting the band’s experiences touring with Heaven & Hell in 2007. Notably, the title track “Silence in the Snow” was originally written during the sessions for their 2008 album “Shogun” but was set aside at the time. “Silence in the Snow” is also the only Trivium album to feature drummer Mat Madiro, who joined the band in 2014 and departed in 2015.
